Welcome to Aussie Cockies Online. At this site you will be able to find information on all the Australian cockatoos, both in the wild and in aviculture. I hope you will find this site entertaining, as well as beneficial for both you and your cockatoo, if you are owned by one.

I think we in Australia take our cockatoos for granted. We see them so often, and they are so much a part of our lives, that we tend to overlook their beauty. In an average day in Sydney, you can quite easily see at least 2 or 3 species of cockatoo in the wild (Sulphur Crested, Galah and Yellow-tailed Black), and this is without even going out of your way looking for them. The most I have seen in one day in Sydney was 5 species, but that was looking for them. (S.Crested, Galah, Yellow-tailed Black, Little Corella, Gang-gang.) In certain parts of the arid centre of Australia, it would be possible to see nearly all the species in one day. I wish that all Australians would stop and look at our cockatoos with as much delight and awe as our overseas visitors do. They are amongst the most wonderful of our unique birds.
